To the commenters who think NSA needs this to keep us safe:  If you think the Government can be trusted with ANY access to our data you are still sleeping.  Read up on the IRS issues and then say they NEED this to keep us safe.  They don't NEED our data, they WANT it to work their stupid political tricks.

Some of this is necessary to keep our country safe. If the go into my records they will find nothing that I am ashamed of so go to it. Why are so many afraid?

134 Republicans and 83 Democrats are now on record in favor of spying on their constituents. I'm seeing a lot of comments by people saying that this will change their house vote in 2014. Many constituents are very angry with their representative who voted to continue spying on them. This could change everything.

Must you sully the word "capitalism" by using it with "crony?" Please adopt "cronyism" or something like that.

Everyone who voted no should be the target of a recall initiative

Proud that an overwhelming amount of Democrat support in California went towards defunding this despite it failing. Not shocked that about an even number of GOP were split on it here though.

Yup. The only Muslim in congress took care of that. Good Job Keith! Need more gov money for these lovely Somalians that are having a hard time assimilating to the western culture. Expensive.

I see that my congressman voted against, so I will never vote for him again. (5th district, VA)

Why is America so surprised. Big Brother has always spied on its citizens. Monitoring potential terrorist and other rouge activity is just the kind of cover they need to do such. We are in the mist of the New World Order. The rule of law will change, society will change, your freedoms will be limited and for your own safety you will be disarmed and do what you are told under martial law. Just pay attention to what's going on in the world. Stop watching all these silly programs and game shows and pay attention!

The House of Representatives was Play-Acting for the voters in their vote....it was pre-ordained that the Federal Surveillance State will continue to grow, expand, intrude, and control the citizenry. Our only countermeasure: Vote with your pocketbook. Limit your spending on EVERYTHING. Starve the Beast!

These maps are one of the fines tools to identify idiot zones. I can't believe that here in the midwest, eastern Iowa is so full of mal-educated morons. They brag about being so intelegent but are selling us all out so they can feel good about themselves.

Election fraud, cronyism and collusion= government spying programs. Private sector and foreign contractors building cameras for street corners. Phones for recording your every word. Drones for backyard invasion of privacy without judicial process. America is a becoming like a prison or police state.

Of course my Congressman, Pete Sessions (R-TX), voted no. He's pretty much rubber-stamped every police state measure of the last 12 years.

My radical leftist Congressman, Andre Carson, voted for the limits. This is the first time he has represented my vote since he was elected!

Yes, my so-called small government Representative Chris Collins NY 27th, loves him some big government control. Not surprised I wasn't ever going to vote for him anyhow

Well the bill also allowed $$ to muslims. It was the amendments that we needed yes on. That would have defunded some of the NSA's money for spying. My congressman voted yes to defund. That would have meant that the money would still go to the muslim countries but the NSA would be defunded. In my mind right now the bigger problem is the spying on us. We can deal with the money leaving to muslims later.

I see it as a litmus test of those who want to uphold the constitution verses those who want to flush it down the toilet in the name of 'keeping us safe'. Regardless of what party they are in and whether they call themselves conservative liberal or otherwise any and all who voted to continue this blatant violation of our constitutional rights should be voted out in 2014!

How do you feel about some of the other Tea Party laws being written by Kochs puppets. In brief, License     issued in Colorado, no background check, to shoot down drone aircraft? Bounty offered, how long till a small private aircraft gets it by some loose cannon?                             Stand your ground, well we know how thats not working, and how could Trayvon still have had skittles in his hand after he viciously attacked Zimmerman?       Women who have had a miscarriage have to have a vaginal ultrasound? (If you have ever had a miscarriage or someone you love has, you know how this can be heartbreaking)             Anyone seeking an abortion will be jailed? They actually removed a woman from a hospital with a baby growing outside her womb, who hemorrhagic to death in their jail. Then there was the Governor who posted a link to Coathangers for anyone wanting an abortion? Creep!                                                       If you are homeless you can be arrested(is this to get free labor like in  the 1930s, no trail,no time length just the mines.)                              If impregnated by a rapist you must carry to term, and rapists has visitation rights?      All of these seem pretty crazy to me.                                                                                   An how did they a Corporation become able to use Eminent Domain law for takeover of private land to Frack ? Thought this was only a law the Government could use.   President Obama needs to do some Executive orders. By the way this was another lie by the Kochs he has done this only 138 times in comparison to Bush 1302, but the Kochs were posting he had used it 932 times, and outright lie. which of course they do quite well.         Also be aware there own brother William said they were also in the Rackets. Right now the attorney general of California has an investigation going on because of money laundering coming from them into a political movement!  Im just a little old Grandma but havent ever seen such disgraceful people in politics! Darell Issa, a convicted felon is head of the House Investigation Committe. Steven King, an outspoken Racists, is head of House immigration authority. John Boehner head of House apparently was a  military turn down because of mental problems? Cant we do better than this? Many many real men have died or shed blood to keep this country free.

@Mercedes Burtle It's not a matter of being afraid.  The problem is, if you don't agree with what the government or certain people in the government, like that donkey in the white house, they will use your words and twist them around and change the meaning of what you said and use it against you.  Old Indian Chief Red Jacket said it right.  They give us their words and change the meaning to fit their own needs.  You cannot trust any part of the government anymore.  You can't believe half of what they tell you and you have to question the other half.

@Raymond Siri You have to be kidding me.  You would vote for someone that lies about being a navy seal to be yur president?  Jesse Ventura has never been and never will be a navy seal.  He was connected with a sweal outfit in the reserves, but he has never even gone through seal training.  He is just an underwater demolition man, period.

@Michael Vecchio They're not hypocrites. They advocate that government be limited to military, policing and spying. They want everything else reduced or eliminated.

you KNOW who it is

@PaulSchmidt  Why is Leslie Jowiski living in open adultery with my husband John Schauer?  Using up community assets while I can hardly pay the bills on the farm?
