Rand Paul’s SOTU response: “We will not cut one penny from the safety net until we’ve cut every penny from corporate welfare.”

I’m cool with this. Sure the so called “safety net” has tons of fraud in it. Sure it often discourages people from being productive parts of society. These issues need to be addressed, and God willing they will be. But I think it’s pretty reasonable to say that taxpayers shouldn’t be paying one dime to corporations and that crony capitalism should be first on the chopping block.

The term limits proposal, the cutting of civilians working for the Pentagon (please, this NEEDS to happen), the idea that we should cut taxes across the board, and that we are obligated as a country to adhere to the Bill of Rights (how did we get to this place?) aren’t bad ideas either.

I guess this was the opening salvo.
