The last margarita I had was actually in Auburn, Alabama. With dollar tacos. I didn’t order a pitcher though.
2 points. No one should be hungry in this country even if it means we must have a food stamp program. (There are other ways to address the hunger issue, but that aside.) Also food stamps are very lucrative for many large food corporations. There’s a reason one can buy soda with food stamps.
Regardless, this is interesting.
As of Jan. 1, 2017, there were 13,663 able-bodied adults without dependents receiving food stamps statewide.
This is very good to hear. Ex-Im, often called “Boeing’s Bank” is such a crony vehicle. It has no place in a modern economy. Enemies of cronyism on both the Right and Left sought to kill the program last year but were abandoned by just enough members of the House who were under heavy corporate pressure who resurrected the bank. Good to see Shelby doing his thing (that is the right thing) here.
The company has 17 trucks and 30 employees. 2 of the trucks apparently had a defective tire on them when inspected and the federal government cited the company and sent a letter demanding a “Plan of Corrective Action.” The letter was sent by regular mail, and was not received. Getting no response from the business owner the Feds shut down the company.
Birmingham Alabama is a growing metropolis there is no doubt about that. Whether it needs to build a new freeway using federal funds is an open question, however.
