It appears clear enough that he has not only leaked classified information. He has done so for partisan political purposes. The US is now one step closer to a Banana Republic.
Yet more freedom and privacy slips away.
Apparently some in the FBI are not very happy with the way the Clinton case was handled. And some agents had to sign unorthodox nondisclosure agreements.
I think there are a lot of people out there who would like to, and likely will mount a “Hillary defense.”
As we have said in the past a key part of a cronyist system is a tiered system of “justice.” There are rules for the Great Washington Court, there are rules for their underlings (whose work may impact their masters), and there are rules for the rest of us. This a massive oversimplification of course.
This is what a former federal prosecutor has to say on FBI Director Comey’s statement on the Clinton email situation from earlier today.
Well, there you go.
Hawaii is an odd place. Smack dab in the middle of the world’s largest ocean it has been said that Hawaii is as close to the developing world as one can come (in some respects) and still be in the 50 United States. It has weird politics. (From which our current president politically sprouted it should be noted.) It has a strong Leftward tilt in many ways. The Communist Party of Hawaii of the 1940s and 1950s was arguably the strongest of the communist parties in the USA.
If there is anything that I personally resent about Mr. Obama it is his introduction, or really reintroduction, of Chicago style politics to the White House. There’s a reason why Chicago is a hole of dysfunction – Chicago politics. And our current president brought it to Washington for all of us to endure.
How is the FBI supposed to do its job when they know that the head of the Executive Branch, the President, their boss, is endorsing for president someone they are investigating.
We don’t agree with all of Senator Wyden’s positions but he is pretty darn good on most things privacy. We appreciate his protest.
The only way this sort of thing will stop is if everyday people get angry enough to make it stop. It’s death by a thousand privacy cuts. A little bit of our dignity and sovereignty taken every day.
