‘I don’t think she was treated fairly during the election’: Obama hits out at media for ‘troubling coverage’ of Clinton and its ‘obsession’ with leaked Podesta and DNC emails

I accept that Mr. Obama and I do not see the world the same way. But there are times when the President ventures into the ludicrous and this is one of those times.

The media in pretty much every way was in the tank for Hillary Clinton this election. Aside from FOX News, all the major broadcasters were practically ongoing infomercials for the former Secretary of State this year. Even accounting for Obama’s pro-Democrat bias how can he possibly say that the media was too tough on Hillary Clinton with a straight face?

MIT study illustrates the insular nature of #OLDMEDIA journalists

As this data appears to show, much of the #oldmedia operates within an echo chamber. This of course is probably not news for most ACC readers. For many of us the echo chamber effect in the #oldmedia seems patently obvious. There have been dozens of stories we’ve touched on here over the years, of significant consequence, which were/are largely ignored by the #oldmedia. These stories are typically ones that are critical of the establishment, of which the #oldmedia, the #cronymedia are a part.

The effort to characterize ACTUAL NEWS as “fake news” is a pro-#Oldmedia, pro-Establishment PROPAGANDA push (PART 1)

So let’s talk about “fake news.”

As you are likely aware, in the wake of the Trump victory there has been a desperate attempt to come to terms with why the Clinton machine lost despite having essentially all of the #oldmedia on its side. Let’s take a moment and review how biased toward Hillary Clinton (and her machine) the #oldmedia actually was.

Below only represents a tiny fraction of the stories we featured on the pro-Establishment and pro-Clinton propaganda push from the powers that be in the #oldmedia,

Mainstream Media Goes Full McCarthyite

It’s not just dishonest; it’s childish.

Senator Joe McCarthy perfected the technique in the United States: whenever you disagree with anybody, don’t debate ideas, go right into name calling. In McCarthy’s day, the epithet of choice was  “Communist.”  In recent years, it has morphed into some variant on bigot: “racist, sexist, homophobe, latinophobe, Islamophobe,

The #OLDMEDIA continues to die: ESPN Loses A Record 621,000 Subscribers In One Month, However #NEWMEDIA Models are Working

First it was the local newspapers. Then the big newspapers started going belly up. Now  the mighty cable giants are in trouble.

The information gatekeepers are losing their grip. The taste makers, the talking heads, the producers and the TV programmers (at least the ones attached to traditional broadcasters) all see that their positions and status aren’t what the used to be. People are “cutting the cord.” The great unwashed increasingly is turning its back on media created in LA and New York.

Obama Enters the Media Wars – Why His Recent Attack on Free Speech is So Dangerous and Radical

Obama is no friend to free speech as many journalists can attest, even some within the #oldmedia like Susan Page at The USA Today. He clearly dislikes the emergence of an alternative narrative to the one he has sought to craft from the beginning of his presidency. Obama’s White House had “journalists” flowing in and out of it all the time. Even Jon Stewart had secret meetings with the President. And Obama is concerned that the “truth”

Bill Clinton says that Hillary “frequently” passes out like she did like on Sunday, CBS News edits out

This is not surprising. It highlights yet again the extent to which the #oldmedia is in many respects just a mouthpiece. For the record the video in the attached article from Mediaite has been removed and I can not find it elsewhere at this moment. (I’ll post if it shows up later in the day.)

More #CronyMedia: PBS cuts Green Pres. Candidate Jill Stein’s Comments Critical of Hillary Clinton from Interview

We often discuss the crony media. Its disposition is generally corporatist, generally left of center, absolutely statist, and a key part of the establishment power structure. The #oldmedia generally cheers the Dems and generally seeks to make life hard for the Republicans. But the #oldmedia doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t adhere to the official line whoever they are, as we witness here.

It should be noted that Judy Woodruff,

Only 6% Trust Media, But It Should Be Less

We have a deeply crony media. Americans know this but we are still on the leading edge of how to deal with the situation.

It seems we can either let the BS continue and continue to read between the lines. We can give up altogether and usher in a new dark age. Or we can decide to champion those who at least seek to tell the truth. (What a quaint thing to want huh?)

Dems on FEC target conservatives, vote to punish maker of anti-Obama movie

There is an effort afoot to silence nontraditional media voices. In recent years the old gatekeepers have lost control of the media gates and they are not happy about it. This means that the #oldmedia (and friends) don’t get to exclusively set the national agenda. As such they are trying to reassert themselves, essentially to control political speech through the government, explicitly.

The documentary in question looks to be very “in your face.” It challenges the established narrative around Obama.

Adventures in the Trump Twittersphere (Social media has changed politics and has made politics much more – small ‘d’ – democratic)

A pretty evenhanded bit of analysis of Trump, his followers, and social media from of all outlets, The New York Times.

I founded (and still run) Exelorix Consultants which initially helped small and medium sized businesses figure out what to do in social media. I founded it in early 2009 before many people had seen social media’s potential, especially from a business standpoint. For a couple of years I actually had to convince many business owners that social media was even important.

Washington Post Report: The media aren’t telling you about ties of pro-Hillary Clinton pundits

It should be noted that this is coming from a Washington Post columnist. It should be noted also that the legwork for this article was done by Lee Fang of the Intercept. Neither outlet is known for anything like a “conservative” disposition.

The #oldmedia (they love that hashtag) is as corrupt as anything on Wall Street. There are all sorts of conflicts of interest at the #oldmedia hubs. Politicos come and go through the media.
